"THE FAN IS MY FRIEND"

just yesterday, the teachers were waiting for our kids at the arrival area when si xue walked in with his dad and he waved goodbye after we took his temperature. thinking that since i'll be taking him next year, i'll just go and try to make some "small talk" with him first.

me: hello si xue!
si xue: *looks elsewhere*
me: hello si xue!
si xue: *looks elsewhere* hello!
me: who are you saying hello to?
si xue: *still looking elsewhere* hello fan!
me: ?!


so i decided to try again.


me: hello si xue!
si xue: *looks at me* (finally!)
me: hello si xue!
si xue: hello beixuan!
me: TAN SI XUE! i am your teacher, not your friend you know! (i nearly burst out laughing!)


si xue: you are not my friend? oh, then can i go and say hello to the fan?
me: NO, look at me and say good morning.
si xue: good morning teacher beixuan!
me: thats much better, si xue.


two seconds later.


si xue: so can i go and say hello to my friend?
me: who is your friend?
si xue: *in a very serious and firm tone* the fan is my friend
me: *faints*
