i wonder why, but my kids were extra chaotic today. couldn't sit still, kept moving up & down, running everywhere while they were supposed to be doing puzzles seated down et cetera et cetera.
my laoshi & i both agreed that they were too "LUAN" (messy) for us to have any more activities somewhere in the middle of the day. we felt the stress & tension of handling them properly very much to the extent that during our music room period, we just made the kids sit down for 30mins of simply doing NOTHING. things were really that messy that both my laoshi & i would have reached our boiling points & evaportated into thin air if the kids are still behaving the same way or worse.
but my laoshi was really funny. nearing the end of 30mins, she decided to "threaten" the kids in a nicer manner of getting them into a discussion to see if changing their class teachers would make them behave better. but just as i expected, some of kids objected. they said pretty nice things such as, "I love you, i don't want to change teachers." we even saw some red eyes. well, my laoshi & i made things pretty clear & we must have sounded very serious about changing classes/teachers.
oh boy, i must admit that my heart softened when i saw some of their red eyes. well if you have been following my posts on my kids and in case you're wondering, eng kiat was also very disruptive. and our lecture weren't directly pointing to him. but somehow or rather, eng kiat got pretty EMOtionally affected by what we said to them during that 30mins.
his eyes were red, mouth opened, ready to cry out loud or whine/groan or whatever you call that. seemingly funny, he didn't managed to produce any sounds even though he looked like he wanted to. AND his tears started flowing.
i was pretty taken aback because through the many times he cries/ screams/ shrieks/ shouts, were all due to not getting his own way or when he does ridculous things or when he is testing & pushing our limits. BUT this time around, he really does looked as though he was badly affected & hurt.
he came up to me, speechless but with big droplets of tears flowing down his cheeks to let out a phase which made my heart melt.
"but.. but i need you!"
awwww. it sounded really genuine & i honestly honestly wanted to just give him a big hug. but guess what my laoshi said immediately.
"ms xuan! bu yao xin ruan!"
ahhhhh. laoshi, too late.
i already xin ruan! :)
