there has been some boy-girl-relationship thingy going on among some of my kids for the past few weeks. err well, not exactly that they really like each other. but they seemed to always stick to each other recently.

there's just one incident that caught my attention though. my kids usually choose their playmates of the opposite gender in the same class, obviously because we don't have lessons or play with the other children except before circle time in the morning. but i'm just surprised to find eng kiat doing something that was different from the rest of his classmates.

i've a girl named vera in my turning-5 year old class and she has a 3 year old sister, vivian who happened to be in the class next to mine. because our centre operates on open concept, we're able to look across each class and be aware of any happenings around us.

eng kiat likes to hop around in the school like as though it was a shopping centre. basically, he goes to every book rack in each class because books are the only things that interest him. but lately, he has been going next door to ms angela's class, which was the class that vivian was in.

there were a few times when he went over and tried to talk to vivian. however, vivian has a fine temper of her own. when she talks to her friends, she talks non stop. but when you get her to talk, she simply stares & frowns at you and can refuses to utter a single word. so each time eng kiat goes over to talk to her, vivian simply keeps her mouth shut and gives him frowns & stares.

ms angela & i managed to capture and eavesdropped over some of eng kiat's attempts which gave us really big laugh-out-loud moments.

episode #01:

eng kiat: i like vivian! *grins*
ms angela: oh but does vivian likes you?
vivian: *frowns*
eng kiat: vivian do you like me?
vivian: *stares & frowns*
ms angela: oh i think vivian doesn't like you *giggles*
eng kiat: *looks disappointed* but i love vivian!

episode #02:

eng kiat: ms angela, i love vivian! *grins*
ms angela: but i don't think vivian likes you.
eng kiat: oh! really? but can i kiss vivian?
me: ?!

ms angela: you can ask vivian if she wants you to kiss her? *giggles*
eng kiat: okay! vivian can i kiss you?
vivian: *frowns & stares*
eng kiat: how come she doesn't say anything to me?
ms angela: err, maybe you can ask her again?

eng kiat: vivian! can i kiss you? *smiles*
vivian: NO! *turns around and walks away*
eng kiat: EH?! *scratches his head*
ms angela & me: HAHAHA!

episode #03:

this time around, eng kiat tried talking to vera first. ms angela said he probably trying to curry favour her so that he can get close to vivian by being nice to vera.

eng kiat: vera, i like vivian you know.
vera: but you cannot always go and find her. ms xuan will scold you!
eng kiat: but i love vivian!
vera: i don't want you to go and find vivian.
eng kiat: why?
vera: because i don't think vivian like you!
eng kiat: OH? but vivian didn't tell me that! *looks very surprised*
me: *faints*

episode #04:

eng kiat went over to ms angela's class again. upon seeing him, ms angela went to sit next to vivian immediately. i laughed in amusement as i contemplated to call eng kiat back since we all wanted to find out what he was up to.

eng kiat: ms angela, can i talk to vivian for a while?
ms angela: but how do you know that vivian wants to talk to you?
eng kiat: OH. i don't know. but can you let me have a try?
ms angela: erm. okay i can let you try. but if vivian doesn't want to talk to you, then you will have to go back to class. because i don't want you to disturb vivian in case she gets upset.
eng kiat: oh she gets upset? okay let me try!

eng kiat went towards vivian and smiled at her. but vivian gave no response but to stare back at him.

eng kiat: hello vivian!
vivian: *stares and frowns*
eng kiat: hello vivian!
vivian: *stares and frowns*
eng kiat: ms angela, how come vivian don't say hello to me?
ms angela: then it menas that she don't want to talk to you. so you can go back to class now before ms xuan gets angry with you.

so eng kiat decided to give another try.

eng kiat: vivian! vivian. vivian. vivian? *tries to greet*
vivian: *looks away*
ms angela: eng kiat, i have a piece of advice for you. you can't force vivian to love you! *giggles*
me: ms angela?!

tian xin! i can't wait for the end of the month to come! :)
