HAPPY VALENTINE DAY!

we spent the same day together last year except that there were only me, shuyan and mel yesterday night. but nevertheless, we still had a good time. so, we helped to bring the vietnamese friends which we made during last year's gateway cities youth convention.

few places we went:
the "chopstick" war memorial
suntec city
fountain of wealth
sky garden
basically we did quite a lot of explaining and story-telling as we walk along the roads in the area. so we actually covered areas full of pairs of people and flowers while we were the only bunch walking around, looking like tourists.
at the fountain of wealth, we saw and heard many dedications. but what we really liked there was those old songs that were played, those backstreet boys era kinda songs. which made mel thought that she was really getting on age. cos those songs were popular during her secondary school days which meant my primary school days. haha!

but along the way to suntec city, we actually saw a burning bush! okayys okayys, maybe not a burning bush. a smoking bush rather. there were smoke coming out of this bush and we were all trying to figure out what was causing the smoke. which we then concluded, a maybe-very relightable cigarette butt.

so we tried to figure out where it was while shuyan poured all her water from her water bottle trying to put it out.

after which a young couple who was with us at the time when we spotted the smoking bush, also suggested other ideas of putting out the fire. then the guy took a cone by the side of the road and covered the still-very-lighted-up cigarette butt, happily declaring that, "if water don't work, then this will. because fire needs oxygen to burn. so i cover then no more air will get in and there'll be no combustion!".

wah! very clever hor. i nearly wanted to cheer and applaud for him. so the bush had the cone in the middle of it. haha, which the guy later on said, "better pray that the cone don't burst into fire." LOL :)our night ended at suntec city's sky garden, eating japanese cheesecake over a lighthearted chat. so what if the streets are filled with pairs and couples, flowers and chocolates. valentine day's just another day where it gets too commercialised that it becomes a MUST to celebrate it extravagantly. i'm glad that mel, shuyan & i are just happy people with pretty simple gestures of appreciation for each other :)

full stop!
