LELONG LELONG!

we had our first ever craft sale in school. we opened up the gym and music room so that parents or outsiders can enter from a bigger door. This was really fun. we put up the children's craft items from the past 3 months' projects and displayed them for sale. there were more than 100 items and we managed to sell off about 80% of them. all proceeds go to the strait times pocket fund!

but the most exciting part was ending the hour-long lunchtime event by autioning off 20 oil paintings done by the older children. this was ultra fun because it was really auctioning for the paintings.

my boss was holding the hammer and calling out prices. each oil painting starts @ $10 and each raise was $2. most parents bought back their kids' oil paintings. it was worth it though, cos each represented different meaning and reflected the unique personality of the child.

it took quite a while to get the ball rolling but subsequently, the paintings were sold for a higher price than the previous one. the first was sold for $22, second was $38, third was $46 and it went on and on. the amount just got higher and higher.

finally, we hit our highest bid at a whopping sum of $158!
