chantelle: ms xuan! i am back! did you miss me?
me: LOL. yes yes, of cos! did you miss me too?
chantelle: *covers her mouth and giggled* Heehee. YES!

so i squat down and gave her a big hug too. just then, we heard really loud thunder sounds from the windows in the toilet. we broke our hug and stared at each other.

me: UH OH.
chantelle: *covers her ears* its thunder! so loud!
me: yes yes, very loud huh.
chantelle: then outside will have heavy rain!
me: oh dear, thats bad. thankfully we are indoors.

a few secs later.

chantelle: OH NO! *covers her mouth*
me: what happened?
chantelle: my mummy never bring umbrella to work! she will get wet!
me: *laughs* maybe she will borrow one?
chantelle: but the strangers outside will not lend her umbrella one! she will have to run in the rain you know!

my mind: wah, my 3 year old darling is telling me that strangers will not lend you umbrella?!

i thought she was going to end her conversation there, but i was wrong.

chantelle: then when mummy has umbrella, she will carry me and we walk together. sometimes the rain will pitter patter drip drop on me.
me: pitter patter drip drop?! LOL.
chantelle: *frowns* why you laugh? it is not funny you know!
me: *tries to stop giggling* okayys okayys, i won't laugh.

she paused for a while, appearing like she was thinking about what to say next.

chantelle: then i will tell mummy, 'mummy! the rain is coming in!' then sometimes mummy will say, 'never mind, its ok. go home and take a hot shower and you will be ok!'.
me: ?!

*not brave enough i suppose. should have done better dealing with a certain human.
felt like my self esteem was crushed to zero level today.
