today's my first teachers' day celebration. it was really heartwarming! i had lots of cards and flowers and other gifts from my kids' parents. this was indeed a great surprise cos i was not expecting anything since my children are only 3 year olds and i even got gifts from other classes. but parents were really generous. i mean, VERY VERY generous.

because we had a celebration from 12.30 to 1.30pm, parents were invited and encouraged to bring in food to contribute to the party. so guess what, the food we had were awesome! there was the 'long-queue' doughnuts, sushi from sakae sushi, shepherd's pies, lots of pastries and puffs, ice cream, secret recipe chocolate banana cakes et cetera et cetera. those would have cost quite a lot, if you add up everything together.

actually we had lessons but children were too engrossed in giving out the gifts they brought. the whole centre was on the move. everyone was going in all sort of directions looking for various teachers. so in the end, we just allowed the children to be the little "santa clauses" and guided them along the way. oh my, you should look at their faces when they gave the gifts/flowers. i can't seem to use a proper word to describe them. joy were written all over their faces. indeed, giving is being more blessed than receiving.

today really makes any form of tiredness and frustration worth my strength and time. especially those hugs & kisses i received!

so in the midst of the celebration, each class put up a short little act/performance in accordance to our class monthly theme. unfortunately, attendance for my class today was only 4. so we did something pretty amusing.

here goes:

FOUR little monkeys jumping on the bed
one fell down and bumped its head
mama called the doctor and doctor said,
"no more monkeys jumping on the bed!"

Three little monkeys jumping on the bed
one fell down and bumped its head
mama called the doctor and doctor said,
"no more monkeys jumping on the bed!"
