i had a rather interesting yet freaky encounter on the short bus ride home earlier (my place is only 3 bus stops away). i got up the bus at the interchange and sat near the back of the bus.

upon the bus moving off, i heard a voice in chinese, saying, "this bus is no good, it will breakdown soon". i looked up from using my handphone and saw a man about 4o-odd years of age dressed in old shirt and shorts with rather unkempt hair. he was walking up the aisle of the bus and telling the other passengers.

he kept telling everyone in chinese, that "the bus is not good, i have a premonition that something bad will happen. you should all get down the bus now". well, some passengers looked at him like he's some mentally unsound person and simply ignored him. others looked and glanced across each other.

well, i was scared too. by his voice and the tone he used, it really sounded he was the kind of fortune-teller that you go into a tent to ask for predictions and the kind with the evil eyes that look through the crystal ball type. HAHA. maybe i am imaginating too much.yet i felt that this man could have gone through a certain experience that he is acting this way. i said a little prayer of peace for him quietly in my heart.

but shortly after that, something that i never thought of happened. after moving off from the first bus stop, the back doors of the bus began to show some problems. it could not be closed properly. each time the bus driver tried to close, it will open & shut twice then became opened again. then that man shouted from behind me, "SEE? i told you, you better get down before anything bad happens." and he stomped off the bus. the whole bus kept quiet.

the bus driver then decided to try driving with the doors opened. so the bus practically crawled to the 2nd bus stop. at the 2nd bus stop, the bus driver tried to do what he could to make the doors close. but after trying for 15mins with the help of some passengers, he turned off the engine and announced that the bus is in a breakdown stage and we all have to get down.

so i walked home from that bus stop, thinking about what the peculiar man said. it could be coincidental that the man's prediction came true to a certain extent. but its kinda freaky, isn't it?
