this month's theme is on land animals and i decided to introduce 2 different animals each week. so this week, i brought to their understanding of the elephant and the bear. interestingly, i got pretty amusing responses while telling them about the elephant.

well, i was showing them a book about elephants.

me: what does the elephant eat? it eats leaves and grass *points to the pictures in the book
me: what does the elephant eat? (i need to repeat, so that my three year olds can get my direct frontloaded question)
children: leaves and grass!
me: do you eat leaves and grass?
children: no!
me: so what do you eat?
audrey: rice and noodles!
gordon: vegetables!
me: yes, you are right. you eat vegetables and what does the elephant likes to eat?
gordon: the elephant likes to eat salad!
me: HAHAHA. they don't eat salad like us. but we eat salad because?
benedikt: because vegetables is good for us!
me: that's right! so that we can stay healthy! the elephant is healthy too because it eats leaves and grass!
chantelle: then why the elephant so fat huh?
me: *faints
