aaron and i had a good laugh after what happened today. we were on our way to grandma's place after service. ahh. it was 4.30pm when we walked out of hall 9. then we realised that there was a bus outside. remembering that i once took the shuttle service to simei at about 4.30pm on a sunday afternoon, we went up the bus. a few minutes later, the bus drove off.

so aaron and i chatted happily on the bus. after some time, we both realised that the bus did not seem to be travelling the usual way. but we didn't mention anything to each other and we got carried away in our conversation.

about 10minutes into travelling on the bus, someone from the front passed us a pouch with cash in it. we were puzzled as to what we were supposed to do. as we wanted to approach the guy in front of us, someone who was walking along the aisle to the back smiled at us. so we decided to ask her instead.

aaron: oh what is this bag for?
girl: its for the bus fare cos it costs about $1.50 per person.
me: ahh i didn't know we pay like that. is it a new thing that they just implemented?
girl: oh no. it has been sometime already. it takes a long journey from expo to NUS you know.
aaron & me: *jaws dropped*
aaron: NUS?!
me: HAHAHAHA.

so we tried to explain how we came up the bus et cetera et cetera et cetera. the girl was very nice though, she helped us by asking if the bus uncle could drop us along the way. unfortunately, we could only alight along jalan toa payoh before the bus goes to the expressway towards bukit timah road.

aaron: so do we still pay for the bus ride?
girl: oh don't worry about that. i think if i make you pay, you two will be even more traumatised.

so both us decided to catch a cab to grandma's place instead. but because that was a very very busy road leading to the expressway, it was almost impossible to find a vacant cab. so we decided to walk towards balestier road.

every now and then as we walk on, we had many pockets of laughs due to the mistake we made. but cabs were difficult to find too. finally after about 20mins, we finally got on one and arrived at our destination. phew.

most common question for this afternoon's interesting experience:
"i wonder what am i doing here?"
