i allowed the kids to have free play at the dramatic corner this evening and i managed to overhear part of their interesting conversation while they were playing together.

kako: let's go shopping!
audrey: okay, we buy chocolate and bread.
chantelle: no! we buy biscuits and fish.
kako: okay! we buy chocolate and bread and biscuit and fish and ... umbrellas!

and so, they walked around pushing the little trolleys and stuffing all kinds of food items into them.until the place got too messy and i stopped them for a while.

me: look, the place is too messy. if you don't know how to play, i will not allow you here anymore. please pick up all the toys on the floor and put them back.

kako, audrey & chantelle: okay! quick quick keep! it is going to rain!
me: ?!

so they really kept everything that was on the floor asap before they carried on playing.

chantelle: quick! its raining! buy umbrellas!
audrey: where where? but we don't have umbrellas here. no one is selling, we cannot buy! how how?
kako: i know! we can buy hats! hurry hurry, its raining a lot a lot a lot a lot!

the 3 girls managed to find a hat each and wore them while pushing their pushcarts too. at this point of time, i decided to step in.

me: is it raining?
kako, audrey & chantelle: YES! we are wearing hats because we have no umbrellas.
me: so why are you still pushing the pushcarts, if it is raining? i thought that the shopping centre and supermarket are shelthered?

audrey: because..
kako: because..
chantelle: because..
me: because?
audrey: because..
kako: because..
chantelle: because the top of the shopping centre has a lot of holes so the rain comes in. i think we need to call the repairman to quickly repair the top. and if he comes, i will give him my hat so that he will not get wet!

me: *faints*
