after going through some devotion materials and the past few quiet moments i had with God, i realised that growing deep in the Lord talks about one main focus.
surrendering to Him.
furthermore, prayer holds the key to the intensity and intimacy of our walk with the Holy Spirit.
"if knowing God is the key to prayer, then surrender is the key to knowing God."
surrendering is often a grey corner in my christian journey. at some point of time, i can reach a spiritual high and lay down every area to God. yet at some other time, procrastination and indifference take control of my thoughts and actions.
sometimes surrendering can be such a controversial thing. we need to submit and surrender then we can be strong. how oxymoronic.
we often say that we need to surrender. but how much do we give of ourselves to God? it is the same issue of being obedient. partial obedient is not obedience. the same goes for surrendering. partial surrender does not equals to surrendering at all.
"surrender is an act of prayer; and prayer, an act of surrender. it is hard to pray because it is hard to surrender. it is hard to surrender because we do not pray."
true enough. prayer is often neglected when quiet time becomes a routine. surrender, slips off our minds when we start to become comfortable in our christian faith.
it is difficult to stand firm in our faith and to stay in track with the Lord when we're in the world. it is a constant and ongoing struggle. but i know that as long as my heart is ready, God will keep me going strong.
how about you? :)
